Dear SIU Alumni,
The Schiller Alumni Office wishes you a Merry Christmas and a very happy New Year!

If you have not yet registered on the alumni webpage yet, please do so, and please do also join our communication platform - we are more than 540 members there now and would like to further expand.
All the best for the holiday season and the coming year.
Yours sincerely,
Ute Gleich / SIU Alumni Management

The SIU Heidelberg Christmas Ball, traditionally held at the Heidelberg Castle, was quite a success with about 100 guests attending, including 30 alumni (see group photo).
Students, alumni, faculty, and staff enjoyed dinner and were caught up in the spirit by singer Deborah Michael and her band, dancing enthusiastically until the lights went out.
Deborah, a professional singer, is currently enrolled in the SIU Strasbourg Executive MBA Program
An exciting new forum to address key issues in international diplomacy and business has been created at the SIU Paris campus.
Souha Akiki, campus director, is delighted to announce the new monthly breakfast seminars for students and faculty. The purpose of these seminars is to enrich our understanding of the complex world we live in. The keynote speakers include Schiller faculty and VIP guest speakers from other leading educational institutions and business leaders.
November's breakfast seminar tackled the controversial issue of the European expansion eastwards and whether Turkey should be included in the E.U. December's seminar focused on Iran, presenting students with an in depth political, social and economical analysis.
The next event will take place in February 2008.

Mariann Siman-Sahni from Hungary, SIU Heidelberg alumna, married to Jet Sahni from India, both living and working in Switzerland, are happy about the birth of of their daughter:
"Jet and I are very happy to announce that our baby, Katherine Elisabeth was born on the 15th of November at 3:16 PM. Katherine was 3.380 kg and 50 cm "tall" at birth. She is absolutely lovely and beautiful. Katherine is doing very well, she is just a cutie. She is always hungry during the day, but sleeps through the night. Jet is a wonderful father, he is enjoying his daughter very much. He is happily changing nappies, burps the baby and takes her on short neighbourhood walks. We spend hours looking at Katherine and we already took a year worth of videos and photos of her. We send our love to all of you!
Happy Parents,
Mariann & Jet"

Mariann showed extraordinary commitment to SIU at the Heidelberg campus and initiated the International Business Association. She contributed a lot by regularly organizing business lectures by highly skilled business professionals from the Heidelberg area.
Thank you Mariann - and good luck for you and your family!
Inga Luebbermann, Chinese-German, and Karim Maher of Egypt, both alumni of SIU Heidelberg, married, and now living and working as entrepreneurs in Hong Kong, would like to share their joy with us:
"On Oct. 7th, 2007, our son Mark was born. He is now more than 2 months old and is growing well.
Here we would also like to wish everyone we know at Schiller, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Best regards,
Inga & Karim

Dear Inga and Karim,
