Schiller International University appointed
the higher education industry veteran, Dr.
Philip J. Krebs as president. Dr. Krebs
joins Schiller International with more than
15 years of diverse university leadership
experience that has emphasized operations,
administration and development.
As president, Dr. Krebs will be responsible
for continuing to enhance Schiller's academic
experience; to attract more students from
countries around the world; to grow the
student body; and to strengthen the
university's program offering.
"Dr. Krebs' background and experience are
well-suited to drive the growth and further
enhance the academic program of Schiller
International University," said John Torell,
Schiller's Board Chair. "His proven
operational expertise will provide us with an
excellent skill set on which to grow
domestically and internationally."
Dr. Krebs joins Schiller International from
Kaplan Higher Education Corporation, where as
Regional Vice President for Operations - New
England Region, he was responsible for
operational and profitability oversight of
regionally and nationally accredited colleges
with enrollment approaching 8,000 students.
His direct reports included college
presidents, executive vice presidents and the
regional vice president for admissions and
marketing.
Prior to Kaplan, Dr. Krebs was Senior Vice
President for Administration and Development
of Berkeley College, New York and New Jersey.
In this role he served as Chief Operating
Officer for the New York State locations and
Chief Development Officer of the Berkeley
College system which included three campuses
in New York, four in New Jersey and the
Online campus. His responsibilities included
all campus operations, administration and
development. Prior to this role, Dr. Krebs
was the Senior Vice President for Academic
Affairs and Campus Operating Officer for the
New York campuses.
Previous to Berkeley College, Dr. Krebs
served as the Director of Academic, Computing
and Instructional Technology for Sacred Heart
University in Fairfield, Connecticut. He was
also a Professor of Chemistry.
Dr. Krebs earned his Ph.D. from Duke
University in Organic Chemistry. His
bachelor's degree was earned at the
University of Pennsylvania in Chemistry.
