Dr. Bannister brings a wealth of experience and talent to Schiller International University. His previous position before coming to Schiller was as President of CEA Global Education and prior to that was the President on the Forum on Education Abroad.

He served as President of Butler University for 14 years, and was the architect of the university's study abroad programs including the largest set of international internships in the nation. During his tenure, he also increased the size of the faculty by nearly 50%.

Prior to Butler University, Dr. Bannister served as the Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Dean of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences at Boston University.
He earned his Ph.D. in Geography from the University of Toronto, Canada, his B.A. and M.A. with honors in Geography from University of Otago, New Zealand.
He has received numerous honors and awards and has been very active in civic activities.

As every year, we would like to take the opportunity to invite you to a pre-ball "alumni only" dinner before the ball kicks off.

Date: Nov 29, 2008
Time: 7 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
Where: Heidelberg - location tba
Contact: York Weyers

In the past this has proven to be very valueable in terms of networking and of course getting to know each other before the party starts.

Please confirm whether you will attend this pre-ball dinner and whether or not your are bringing a guest / your better half.

Due to renovations at the castle this year, the ball will be held at the Palais Prinz Carl at the Kornmarkt. More details will be announced soon.
Schiller Strasbourg's alumni are planning to have a reunion on the weekend of July 24-26, 2009.
Our preleminary plan so far:
Friday, July 24: Barbecue dinner at the Tipi-Camp for early birds.
Saturday, July 25:
Afternoon: Roundtable Networking Event
Evening: French dinner at the Chateau Pourtales and party with live music
Sunday, July 26: at your own leisure

To register, contact Johan Klang, Strasbourg alumnus, or the alumni office.

With kind regards, Ute Gleich, Editor
