Kathy and Dennis at the Ingersheim Castle, 1965
from: Ute Gleich
I was very excited when I found a real alumna "fossil" in the registration database last month:
Kathleen Sampson from the USA who studied at the first Schiller campus in Kleiningersheim, 1965.

Even more amazing is that her husband is also an alum of the same class! They met on the Bremen as they sailed out of New York harbor on their way to Schiller.
This June they will celebrate 41 years of marriage!
Congratulations to both of you and loads of love for the coming 40 years.

No corn in Iowa!
from Kathleen Sampson, Schiller Alumna

There were 8 students from the University of Dubuque at Schiller in 1965 because Dr. Leibrecht had worked out an arrangement with U of D to promote the program. I'm sure he learned a lot from contending with us. One day he told us that he had heard from the President of U of D that any U of D student caught drinking was to be sent home immediately. His response was, "That would be like telling them not to eat corn in Iowa!" Our year at Schiller was wonderful and something that we would not have traded for anything.
Dear Schiller Alumni,
You might have heard already that we have formed an alumni forum on the network platform XING.
The SIU Alumni Organization at XING has exceeded 400 members by this month and is constantly growing.
It helps to find former classmates, and to get in contact with other Schiller alumni from all over the world as well as it it helpful for business contacts, finding jobs, and more.

All the best to you.

Sincerely, Ute Gleich, Editor
