The Strasbourg Alumni Reunion on July 24-26, 2009, was a great event! Thanks to Johan Klang, who initiated the reunion (see photo: middle: Johan and his wife Maria Karlsson; left: Ashish Shrivastava from New York).
Here Johan's impressions:

"It has been a fantastic weekend, the reunion in Strasbourg, I can assure you that we all thought about you, who were not with us and that we raised a glass of cold Alsatian wine in your memories.

In total, there were about 50 people during the 2 days with about 20 who were students around 1989 to 1993. Apart from the official events of a great BBQ on the Friday evening and a fantastic dinner & dancing event on Saturday, we spent time in Strasbourg: the Cathedral, Petite France, and also went down to Requiweir on the Route du Vin. Fischer Beer, Weissbeer, Riesling, Gewuertzraminer, Tarte flambee, Choucrote, Pate Fois Gras and lots more were enjoyed.

You would be in awe at the amount of work that was put into the Chateau, the rooms in the annex and Chalet are totally renovated with hotel standard bedrooms, the canteen has also be refurbished and is very pleasant. The bistro/party shack is still standing (.... amazing), and the pictures that many of us painted are still there. The Gatehouse is serving a great Tarte Flambee - just like old time we arrived late and were the last to leave.

We have already decided that we are going to have a 25 year reunion in the summer of 2014 or 2015!
For more information on the 25th year reunion checkout the Facebook-Group: "Schiller Alumni 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993".

This year 6 friends from the class of 1992 re-connected and decided to reunite in Heidelberg. We had the idea to walk to the Thingstaette and rekindle our memories of our wonderful time in Heidelberg. As we descended down the hill, we found ourselves on the steps of Bergstrasse.
It was great to find Thomas Leibrecht and Ute Gleich there, willing to talk to us and show us around.
It was fun to reminisce and to also see how things have changed. We remember our times here fondly and as we continue our lives in various parts of the world we thank Schiller International University for bringing us together once and keeping us together still.

We regret to inform you of the passing of Cindy Riedel.
Cindy lost her battle with cancer on April 10, 2009. She was very proud of her children (Grace, 21 and Spencer, 18) and her Schiller MBA. She and her husband Steve Riedel studied in London and Heidelberg, and earned their degrees in 1986.
Steve works for the Department of Trade for the State of Minnesota.

Schiller administration would like to offer their condolences.

With kind regards, Ute Gleich, Editor
