The first time they met was in an online class....Sabrina Mueck was studying at the SIU campus in Madrid, while Jens Ortmann was completing his MIM at the SIU campuses in Heidelberg and Strasbourg.
The real story began when Sabrina transferred to Heidelberg and they became a pair. After graduation they both had jobs, and then decided to found their own unique marketing company: openmindz and do business with some of their former classmates, now spread all over the world. With these Schiller connections they were able to produce, design, and customize goods for their clients.
The trust and friendship that developed during their time at SIU helped find reliable producers in China and India.
Beginning in January 2008 openmindz offered internships to 8 Schiller students and welcome further applicants.
Currently they are also looking for a Sales & Marketing Freelancer.

2 Heidelberg Alumni came back to where it all began - as entrepreneurs.
The Schiller Alumni Meeting at the MoMa two weeks ago was a great success!
Over 30 alumni met in this impressive architectural setting, surrounded by works of art! Present were Doug Zucker / founder of the New York Chapter, and initiator of the meeting, Daniel Pianko / CFO of SIU, and Ute Gleich / Alumni Manager.

It was wonderful to meet the Krauser-Family with J. David Krauser and his wife Eugenia who studied at the first campus in Kleiningersheim during the very early days, and his daughter Vanessa - a 2nd generation graduate from Heidelberg. Her sister Natalie also attended Schiller but couldn't join us at the MoMa. Once again we experienced the diversity within Schiller with so many different alumni from all of the campuses, who work in many different professions, and now live in NYC or surroundings.

Our first US Northwest alumni meeting took place on June 11 in Seattle, Washington where five of us got together to share the spirit of Schiller. It took only moments for us all to realize, once again, how profound the experience was for each of us. Each of our stories reminded us how we adapted to the world around us and enriched our lives at Schiller.
We shared the story of two friends who met in 1973 in Germany: they are now and still great friends and even work together here in the Seattle area!
We realized what a powerful tool the global network is and how we can help each other find connections and opportunities all over the world, among every industry and discipline imaginable. We only need to ask....
It was great to get together, and I am certain there will be more meetings. The special experience that we all shared, regardless of campus affiliation, is the essence of what makes Schiller a special place in our hearts.

Cyril Nehme, Schiller Paris Alumnus shows his paintings at the Paris campus in an ongoing exhibition.
He is French and Lebanese and lives in Paris. After completing his MBA in 2005 he worked for a bank. He says: "Paris is a city that helps my inspiration to grow and to develop and I try to draw on paintings or on a computer program the emotion that comes with inspiration. Please look at my website."
Next fall semester he will be teaching International Business and Import/Export at SIU Paris.

Schiller Strasbourg's alumni are going to have a reunion on the weekend of July 24-26, 2009.
Our preleminary plan so far:
Friday, July 24: Barbecue at the Tipi-Camp for early birds.
Saturday, July 25:
Afternoon: Roundtable Networking Event
Evening: French dinner at the Chateau Pourtales and party with live music
Sunday, July 26: at your own leisure
