Dear SIU Alumni,

It gives us great pleasure to announce the creation of the University's "Center of Excellence (COE)".
It is an exciting initiative that exemplifies Schiller's commitment to make a meaningful contribution to society.
The first COE topic will be the "Center for Entrepreneurial Solutions to the Environmental Crisis (CESEC)". CESEC will be dedicated to creating business solutions to environmental problems.
We would highly appreciate the commitment of our alumni! You could, for example, contribute by giving a speech on your business start-up or how you set up schemes for environmental protection.
Please contact the alumni office if you would like to support your Alma Mater in its endeavor to promote SIU's Center of Excellence 2008-2009.
Yours sincerely,
Ute Gleich / SIU Alumni Management

Center for Entrepreneurial Solutions to the Environmental Crisis
The key question we aspire to answer during the 2008-2009 academic year is:
How can Schiller students, faculty, staff, and alumni create
entrepreneurial solutions that mitigate humanity's impact on the environment?
The COE will become a tremendous asset to all of us as we attempt to address the challenges facing our environment.

We expect all members of the Schiller community to collaborate on the development of policies and business solutions that may contribute to the Greening of our world. This is a university wide initiative, but each campus works to further the initiative on their campus.
Each objective will be determined by consideration of the singular strengths and resources of Schiller. We anticipate announcing a new COE every twelve to eighteen months.

We are proud to announce that SIU Madrid is moving to a new Campus this coming summer 2008!
The new premises are located on Calle Serrano 156 (Plaza de la República Argentina), one of the most chic areas of Madrid, surrounded by embassies, international schools and cultural centers.

Within the neighborhood, you will find fashionable restaurants and cafes, sport centers and the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium (home of Real Madrid), shopping malls and boutiques, and the core of the financial and business center of the city.

The building is of neoclassical style and was originally the residence of a member of the royal family.
We look forward to welcoming you this summer at the new Madrid Campus!

With kind regards, Ute Gleich, Editor
